Happy hump day everyone! And happy February! What better way to start a new month than with a little bit of wanderlust inspiration? We don’t have too much planned for this month other than a brief weekend trip to Ghent in Belgium followed by a visit of my parents for my birthday. If you still don’t know where to go this month, here’s a little bit of inspiration:
If you ever consider visiting the Big Easy, make sure to do so during the Mardi Gras celebrations in February. New Orleans is hands down one of my favorite in the US as its culture and architecture is like nowhere else in the States. Everywhere you go you will meet beautiful French influenced buildings, happy people and amazing jazz music.
Another place in the world where the carnival in February is celebrated is in Venice. If you wanna experience the idyllic canals of the city, this is the worst time of the year to go. During the carnival people from all over the world dress up in beautiful classic masks and gowns and join in on the festivities all over the streets of Venice.
Kliche as it may be, February is also the month of Valentines Day and what better way to celebrate than going with your loved one on a romantic trip to the city of love, Paris. Stroll around the beautiful streets and museums hand in hand, eat freshly baked croissants and kiss on top of the Eiffel Tower.
The Australian capital is in many ways like a sister of London – buzzing cafes, a cool hipster vibe and temperamental weather. Although during most of the year, the weather in Melbourne is unpredictable, during the month of February the city turns into a bustling summer party thanks to the warm temperatures and lowest rainfall of the year.
If you like me live in the northern hemisphere you might be longing for the sun and warmth more than ever. Now’s the best chance to jump on a plane and head to Bahamas and enjoy the long sandy beaches, cool cocktails and the hot sun caressing your skin before the hoards of spring breakers arrive to the islands during March and April.
